Letterpress Marriage Certificate with Custom Made Velvet Damask Cover

A lot of the weddings we designed invitations for are finally getting under way this Spring and it’s always great to hear back from our brides who want to follow up their invitation designs with matching stationery for their receptions. Marieleng and Joachim are getting married in France later this month at Chateau Bagnols (to die for!) They called us back asking for something we had never done before… a custom made marriage certificate, letterpressed to match their invitations along with matching table name cards, placecards and guest cards for the reception. Letterpressing one piece in two colors is expensive, but we thought ‘why not’? It certainly is an important piece of documentation of your wedding day and the standard certificates are pretty boring, not to mention unattractive. Follow it up with a custom made, velvet damask, cover and it becomes something very special and a beautiful remembrance of the day.

We letterpressed the certificate on two ply ivory museum board in pale rose and wine red. The certificate cover is hardbound using the same deep red velvet damask as the invitation with french velvet ribbon and a Swarovski crystal rosette. The inside has a frame to hold the certificate which slides in from the bottom and pale rose satin ribbon on the alternate panel to hold photos or other keepsakes of the day.

Congrats to the happy couple! This is one wedding where we sure wish we were on the guest list. C’est Magnifique!!

Its a Big ‘Un!!

Custom Made Peacock Feather Silk Presentation Folder

The other week I got a call from a lady with a strange request…

Lady: “Hello, I wanted to see how much your invitations were.”
Me: “Sure, which design are you interested in?”
Lady: “Well, I want something custom with Peacock feathers and silk.”
Me: “Sure, we can do that for you. How many do you need?”
Lady: “One big one.”
Me: “Just one? How big? 6 by 9 inches?”
Lady:”No, really big… like 17 by 22 inches ”
Me: “What?!”

And so the project began. Here are the photos to prove it. The biggest invitation we’ve ever done. It turned out quite beautiful actually. Found out it will be presented and displayed with custom calligraphy inside at an equally grand event.

Sometimes we get some offbeat requests, but I’ve always told everyone that we can make anything and make it well!
